Accounting Technician

Ventura County Transportation Commission, California Location: Camarillo, CA Application Deadline: 10/16/2026 11:59 PM Pacific The Ventura County Transportation Commission (VCTC) is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Technician to join its Finance team. This is a full-time temporary-to-permanent opportunity that will transition to a permanent position. The Accounting Technician supports essential financial operations through accounts payable and receivable, payroll support, reconciliations, journal entries, reporting, and financial recordkeeping. Reporting to the Finance Director and working closely with the Accounting Manager and Senior Accountants, this position offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful public transportation services throughout Ventura County. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, dependable, and comfortable working independently within established procedures. Strong attention to detail, math skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office/Excel, confidentiality, and the ability to meet deadlines are essential. Qualifications Three to four years of experience performing similar accounting functions and knowledge of accounting principles are preferred. An associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred; a combination of college-level accounting coursework and relevant experience will be considered. Why VCTC?
