Responsibilities:

• Draw high-quality blood samples from patients across all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations, ensuring safety and accuracy.
• Prepare and label specimens accurately following established protocols, verifying patient information and securing proper documentation.
• Create a compassionate and professional atmosphere by explaining procedures clearly and building trust with patients.
• Follow all safety, infection control, and confidentiality policies to ensure a secure environment for patients and staff.
• Maintain meticulous records of collections, troubleshoot issues as needed, and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Support other clinical and administrative tasks related to specimen processing and patient interactions as needed.
• Adapt to multiple locations and shifting schedules, including weekends, holidays, and on-call hours, to meet staffing and patient care needs.

Required Skills:

• Proven proficiency in phlebotomy, with experience in pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and compassionately.
• Excellent attention to detail to ensure error-free specimen collection and documentation.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a team-oriented approach.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently in a high-volume setting.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality best practices.
• Basic computer skills, including data entry and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Previous experience working in a Patient Service Center or clinical laboratory environment.
• Medical assistant or paramedic training.
• Prior certification in phlebotomy from an accredited program.
• Experience providing customer service in a retail or service environment.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years of professional phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
• Additional relevant training or certification in phlebotomy preferred.
• Experience working in diverse clinical settings or multiple work locations is a plus.

Other Requirements:

• Certification in phlebotomy preferred; applicable in certain states (California, Nevada, Washington).
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and clean driving record if travel is involved.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays to support multiple sites.
• Ability to lift and maneuver supplies; physical capability to perform blood draws with precision.
• Commitment to safety, confidentiality, and adherence to all organizational policies and procedures.
