Make a meaningful difference working with high school students in specialized Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) classrooms. This exciting contract opportunity spans the 2026-2027 academic year and offers the chance to support learners in a dedicated environment designed for their success. You’ll be working onsite, collaborating with a passionate team of educators, offering expertise to help students achieve their Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Special Education Teaching License required (please provide screenshot proof of active credential status)
- Experience or strong interest in working within ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) high school classrooms
- Solid understanding of IEP development, classroom management, and differentiated instruction
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to work with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to adapt strategies to meet diverse learning needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and individualized instruction to high school students with Autism
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Document student progress and adjust teaching methods to support academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment where students feel respected, supported, and empowered
- Communicate regularly with families and staff to build partnerships that support student achievement
- Support classroom routines, transitions, and activities that promote independence and functional skills
This is a full-time contract position (37.5 hours per week) with six openings, offering the unique chance to directly impact students and be part of an innovative special education program.
