Mid-Senior Level Oil and Gas Title Attorney Full-time with Hybrid option s Join Our Team: Kuiper Law Firm is seeking a senior attorney with a background in title examination, energy transactions, renewable energy, and more to join our growing team. As an attorney with our firm, you will have the opportunity to work on complex legal matters related to oil and gas, natural resources, land use, energy transactions, and more. We’re committed to developing our attorneys and provide ongoing support to help them succeed in their practice. Your Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive title examinations to determine ownership related to oil and gas properties. Identify and analyze relevant documents, including deeds, leases, and contracts, to establish ownership rights while issuing spotting. Draft detailed title opinions highlighting any defects, liens, or other issues that may impact the ownership or use of the property Stay updated on relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Provide guidance on legal risks, potential liabilities, and strategies for mitigating legal issues related to oil and gas transactions. Meet monthly billable requirements. Conduct due diligence reviews for clients involved in oil and gas transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures. Support other activities and projects as assigned or dictated by business priorities. Must-Haves: Bachelor’s degree in law (J.D.) Licensed in Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma, or New Mexico Minimum 3 years of experience drafting titles opinions or related experience. The ability to collaborate with a dynamic team of legal professionals and business support specialists. Proficient in all things Microsoft Suite with excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills. Strong knowledge of oil and gas industry practices, regulations, and laws. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ability to act with professionalism and integrity in all interactions with clients & colleagues. Nice-to-have: Experience as a landman. Experience as in house-legal and compliance attorneys. Experience as Counsel at a State regulatory Agency. Board Certification in Oil, Gas, and Mineral Law is a plus.
