Ambulance Department Co-Leader
IOWA SPECIALTY HOSPITAL
Overview This position works a 15-day “on” / 13-day “off” rotation. Provides joint department leadership, along with a second Ambulance Dept Co-Leader, that includes fostering a positive work environment, coaching department members in support of their professional growth, allocating and managing resources. Provides advanced emergency care in the out-of-hospital setting, including the evaluation, treatment and transport of injured and/or ill patients of all ages per protocols established by the medical director. In the hospital setting, assists with patient care in the Emergency Dept and other hospital departments within established guidelines/policies, functioning under the supervision of a medical provider or RN in areas not specifically denied by State of Iowa Code applicable to Emergency Medical Providers. Requirements Current Paramedic License or above required. High School degree or equivalent. A minimum of 5 years of field experience as EMS personnel required. Previous EMS leadership experience preferred.
