Payroll Specialist
Our client, located in Lewisville, is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role is 100% in-office.
Key Qualifications and Duties:
- Sage experience is helpful
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is required
- Will process payroll for about 500 employees, including timesheet verification, onboarding, terminations, benefits, changes, promotions, PTO, garnishments, deductions
- Union experience would be great
- Accounting experience is a bonus
Summary: This role is located in Lewisville, TX and primarily assists the HR/Payroll Manager in all facets of payroll. This position is ideal for someone who has been in payroll role for at least 3 years, is detail oriented, extremely organized, has strong communication skills, is a problem solver, and has an analytical mind with good math skills. Bilingual in English and Spanish is helpful in this role. Expected hours are Monday through Friday from 8am 5pm with an hour lunch break. This position reports to the HR/Payroll Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collect and verify employee timekeeping data
- Update and maintain HRIS (new hires, terminations, benefits, and changes) as they affect payroll
- Employment verifications
- Check payroll information for accuracy and ensure all relevant paperwork is complete
- Oversee direct deposit entries and verify accuracy
- Update payroll information for promotions, terminations, and new hires
- Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant industry regulations, tax and deduction laws
- Process time records in hh2
- Tracking PTO for all employees
- Maintain garnishment logs and entry of garnishments
- Update the OAG when someone with a child support order separates employment
- Participate in open enrollments
Job Requirements:
- Must have experience in payroll administration
- Must be possess strong organizational and time management skills
- Must be able to work onsite everyday
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have excellent organizational and attention to detail skills
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
