Works under the direction of the Payroll Manager.QualificationsMinimum Education/CertificationHigh School Diploma/GEDCollege hours preferredSpecial Knowledge/Skills/ExperiencePrior clerical experience (payroll experience preferred)Knowledge of basic accounting proceduresAbility to maintain accurate and auditable recordsAbility to use 10-key calculator by touchAbility to use personal computer including Excel and Word softwareAbility to work with numbers in an accurate and rapid manner to meet established deadlinesAbility to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer serviceMajor Responsibilities and DutiesProcess payroll for employee groups assigned.Audit time for district employees.Review and verify payroll data imported from the district human resources departmentPrepare and maintain accurate records for assigned district employees.Communicate with administrators and supervisors to ensure accuracy of information reported.Respond to inquiries and resolve problems as needed.Maintain confidentiality of employee information.Other duties as assigned by the Payroll Manager or Director of Payroll.Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental FactorsStandard office equipment including personal computer and peripheralsProlonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twistingRepetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reachingOccasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)May work prolonged or irregular hoursWork with frequent interruptions to meet established deadlines; maintain emotional control under stressOther: All employees are to follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.The foregoing statements describe the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job and are not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties that may be assigned or skills that may be required.
