AP Supervisor

Job Title: Accounts Payable Supervisor – Expense Payables Location: Duluth, GA 30096 Pay: $75,000/year Schedule: Hybrid – 4 days in office, 1 day work from home Our client, a leading organization in the distribution industry, is seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor – Expense Payables to oversee the daily operations of the Expense Payables function. This role is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant processing of expense reports, corporate card transactions, and non-PO invoices while maintaining departmental KPIs, SLAs, production goals, and internal controls. The Accounts Payable Supervisor will lead and develop a team of AP Coordinators and Specialists while assisting with offshore BPO support. This position will play a key role in maintaining service excellence, resolving escalated issues, supporting month-end close, ensuring audit compliance, and identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Oversee the timely and accurate processing of a high volume of indirect expense invoices in accordance with company policies and service level agreements. Manage processing of expense reports, corporate card transactions, and non-PO invoices. Monitor daily production metrics, KPIs, SLAs, audit findings, and error logs to ensure performance and compliance standards are met. Ensure all month-end close requirements are completed accurately and within established AP deadlines. Prepare and review daily and monthly departmental reporting. Oversee ServiceNow queues to ensure timely review, resolution, and SLA compliance. Research, troubleshoot, and resolve escalated inquiries from subsidiaries and internal stakeholders. Provide exceptional customer service to field locations and internal departments. Troubleshoot system-related issues and serve as a liaison with IT when needed. Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and analysis. Lead, coach, and develop a team of Accounts Payable Coordinators and Specialists. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to review performance, KPIs, quality standards, and development opportunities. Manage employee performance evaluations, corrective actions, onboarding, and training initiatives. Provide ongoing training to enhance technical skills, process knowledge, and career development. Assist in supervising offshore BPO team members to ensure productivity, service quality, and adherence to established standards. Manage staffing coverage and overtime requirements based on operational needs. Document and maintain departmental processes and procedures. Evaluate workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and best practices. Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards. Support additional projects and initiatives as assigned by management. Qualifications 3+ years of supervisory experience in Accounts Payable or a related finance function. Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and accounting principles. Advanced Excel skills and strong overall computer proficiency. Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills. Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach. Demonstrated process improvement mindset. Experience with conflict management and employee relations. Ability to lead, coach, motivate, and develop a high-performing team. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Experience with PeopleSoft or a similar ERP system preferred. Physical Demands / Working Environment Professional, climate-controlled office environment. Hybrid schedule requiring four (4) days per week in the office and one (1) day working remotely. Prolonged sitting and frequent computer and 10-key use. Occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting of light objects up to 25 pounds. Continuous close vision required for reviewing detailed financial information. Requires sustained concentration, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
