Job Details

• Position: Hematology/Oncology Physician – Locum Tenens
• Location: Eureka, California
• Schedule: Clinic coverage with call support
• Shift Times: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM and 1:00 PM–5:00 PM
• Shift Length: 8-hour shifts
• Hours Per Week: Approximately 40
• Call: Weeknight beeper call and 24-hour weekend beeper call; provider is on call 1 out of every 3 weeks
• Coverage Type: Inpatient and outpatient hematology/oncology care
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $15,570–$16,680
• Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 60–90 days
• Start Date: October 2026

Job Requirements

• Board certified or board eligible within 3–5 years of residency in Hematology/Oncology
• Active California medical license required
• DEA certification required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of current hospital clinical activity in Hematology/Oncology
• Current CV required for presentation
• Ability to provide two years of inpatient case logs to support privileging
• Gaps greater than 3 months must be explained
• Clean file preferred for temporary privileges consideration

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive Hematology/Oncology care for inpatient and outpatient patients
• Deliver clinic coverage and manage call responsibilities as scheduled
• See approximately 12–15 patient encounters per shift
• Respond to weeknight and weekend beeper call by phone as needed
• Collaborate with the oncology care team to support continuity of care
• Work closely with an oncology clinic connected to infusion and hospital services
• Maintain timely documentation and clinical communication throughout the coverage period
