Our organization is seeking a talented Heavy Duty Equipment - Shop Mechanic to join our team at the Jeffco location, situated at 20855 Westgate Road, Golden, CO 80403. Reporting directly to the Fleet Maintenance Manager, the ideal candidate will be tasked with the regular maintenance and repair of our Ready-Mix trucks, while ensuring that our workshop remains safe and organized. • Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing, and electrical systems according to specifications and manuals.
• Conduct visual inspections and listen to machinery to identify the causes of malfunctions.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems effectively.
• Communicate promptly and clearly with shop leadership regarding significant issues.
• Operate mobile equipment, including service trucks, to retrieve malfunctioning assets.
• Perform daily preventative maintenance, including fueling, cleaning, tire and light inspections, and checking and replenishing fluids as necessary.
• Service pumps and motors as required.
• Engage in welding, repair, and fabrication tasks.
• Procure parts for repairs as needed.
• Make service calls to other company facilities or job sites when necessary.
• Assist in training fellow employees as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Effective execution of preventative maintenance.
• Timely response to maintenance service requests.

• Strong understanding of mechanics related to truck and general maintenance.
• Proficient in using power tools, welders, cutting torches, and various safety equipment.
• Knowledge of proper maintenance procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols and special work permits.
• Competent in using computer systems and software.
• Experience with Allison transmissions, Davie 4, and ESA software is advantageous.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Must possess a clean driving record and be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record check.
• A Commercial Driver’s License is a plus.
• Must provide personal tools up to ¾ inch.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.

• A High School Diploma is preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience as a Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic is required.
• Experience with concrete mixers is preferred.

Occasional travel to various company facilities may be necessary to perform maintenance tasks.

The physical demands outlined here represent what an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this role:

• Regular outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and precipitation.
• Frequent use of eye-hand coordination, near vision, and hearing.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, kneel, bend, reach, lift up to 50 lbs, carry up to 50 lbs, push, pull, and utilize both fine and gross motor skills.
• Exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, moving equipment, oil, debris, solvents, smoke, gases, fumes, and aggregate materials.
• Required personal protective equipment (PPE) includes safety shoes, vests, glasses, earplugs, and hard hats. Additional PPE may be necessary for specific tasks such as welding and repairs.

Salary range: $30 - $34 per hour, depending on experience.
