Position Summary

Gateway Regional Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join our Surgical Services team.

In this role, you will provide direct patient care throughout the surgical experience-from pre-operative preparation through intraoperative support and post-operative recovery. You'll collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and exceptional patient outcomes.

This position is ideal for nurses who value teamwork, attention to detail, and delivering excellent care in a dynamic environment.

What You'll Do

• Deliver high-quality nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Perform patient assessments and prepare patients for surgery
• Support and advocate for patients throughout the surgical experience
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia teams, and surgical staff
• Maintain patient safety standards and regulatory compliance
• Monitor patient status and respond effectively in changing situations
• Document care accurately and communicate effectively across teams

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing

Licensure & Certifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or American Red Cross

Experience

• Operating Room experience preferred
• New graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply

Compensation

$32.00–$48.00 per hour

Compensation is based on factors including experience, education, certifications, and relevant skills. Final offers are determined through our compensation review process to ensure internal equity and market alignment.
