Forklift Operator / Material HandlerLocation: Hockley, TX, US Job Type: Full-Time Compensation: $16.00 – $20.00 HourlyShifts: 1st - 6am-4:30pm; 2nd - 4pm - 330amThe Forklift Operator / Material Handler ensures the safe and efficient movement, storage, and tracking of materials in our fabrication shop. You will work closely with production teams to keep welding stations stocked, manage inventory, and meet shipping deadlines while maintaining a safe, organized workspace.ResponsibilitiesEquipment Operation: Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials (including bundles up to 60' long).Material Handling: Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against orders; prepare and stage outgoing orders.Inventory Control: Organize materials to maximize space; accurately record material movements and assist with stock counts.Shop Safety: Maintain a clean work area, follow OSHA standards, and report hazards or equipment issues immediately.Qualifications & SkillsCertification: Valid forklift operator certification required.Education: High school diploma or equivalent.Experience: Previous experience in a fast-paced production, metal fabrication, or material handling role preferred.Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints, bills of lading, bills of materials, and a measuring tape; basic math and reading skills.Physical Demands: Physical stamina to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.Tech & Communication: Familiarity with inventory software/WMS is a plus; strong teamwork and communication skills.Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime or weekends if needed.Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $16.00 - $20.00 Per Hour
