Overview A well-regarded civil litigation defense firm in Chicago, Illinois is seeking a Senior Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney. Responsibilities Independently manage a caseload of Illinois workers' compensation defense matters from inception through resolution Represent clients at arbitrations, hearings, and appeals before the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission Draft and argue motions, conduct depositions, and manage all aspects of written discovery Develop and execute case strategy in collaboration with clients and senior attorneys Advise employer and insurer clients on risk management, exposure, and litigation strategy Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and support staff Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and regular case updates Qualifications J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school 5+ years of workers' compensation defense experience in Illinois Solid working knowledge of the Illinois Workers' Compensation Act and IWCC practice and procedure Experience at arbitration and before the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission Strong written and oral advocacy skills Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with minimal supervision Illinois workers' compensation arbitrator certification a plus What We Offer The annual salary for this position is between $150,000 and $250,000. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
