Workers Compensation Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks an attorney with experience defending workers' compensation cases to join their Chicago, IL office. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in workers' compensation defense work and be admitted to the Illinois bar. Responsibilities Gather and review medical evidence and records. Take depositions of claimants, physicians, and other parties. Conduct discovery and perform legal research. Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents. Litigate cases before an administrative law judge. Represent employer or insurer interests at various proceedings. Communicate with claims representatives and monitor reports. Assist in accident investigations and manage costs. Compile and submit management reports. Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients. Requirements Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) Certifications: Admission to the Illinois bar Additional Midwest state bar admission is a plus Experience: Workers' compensation defense work Knowledge of legal principles, practices, and terminology. Familiarity with local, state, and federal laws. Experience with Microsoft Word and Outlook; Perfect Law preferred. Firm and client confidentiality required.
