Shoulder/Elbow APP (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)- FT Day- Redwood City

Position Shoulder/Elbow APP (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) – Full Time Day – Redwood City, California. Responsibilities Evaluate and treat patients with acute and chronic complaints and health maintenance concerns related to specialty. Obtain complete histories and perform physical exams with assessment of normal and abnormal findings on new and returning patients. Perform or request diagnostic studies as indicated. Administer medications per formulary protocol or upon patient‑specific approval from supervising physician, including controlled substances per protocols. Order and collect specimens for routine laboratory tests, screening procedures, and therapeutic procedures. Order physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology examinations, and nursing services. Perform designated procedures after demonstrated competency according to written procedures. Obtain informed consent as indicated. Initiate arrangements for hospital admissions and discharges and complete appropriate paperwork. Enroll patients in investigational studies approved by the IRB and order necessary tests and medications. Assist supervising physician in the operating room, acting as first or second assistant. Perform surgical procedures in presence of supervising physician. Communicate effectively with patients, families, staff, and community members. Recognize and initiate life‑saving procedures when necessary. Coordinate inpatient and outpatient care and services as needed. Facilitate collaboration between providers and coordination of community resources. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and clinical policies and procedures. Participate in quality improvement initiatives. Provide and coordinate patient teaching and counseling. Education and Qualifications Minimum 2 years post‑Masters experience as an APP Orthopedic practitioner or similar. NP or PA degree (NPs must hold RNFA with OR experience). Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team. Bachelor’s degree or higher from accredited institution (PAs hired prior to July 1, 2012 may differ). Graduate of a PA program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. Licenses and Certifications Physician Assistant state licensure. BLS – Basic Life Support. DEA – Drug Enforcement Administration. Work Schedule and Benefits Monday to Friday schedule.
