Electrical Engineer (5-8 years)

Electrical Engineer Location: Westminster, CO We are looking for an Electrical Engineer with 5-8 years of experience in lighting, power, and low‑voltage consulting engineering to join our team of highly respected, multi‑discipline engineers. Responsibilities Develop electrical engineering design deliverables including drawings, specifications, calculations, testing requirements, acceptance criteria, reports, electrical studies, feasibility studies/condition surveys, etc. Review and prepare project drawings including electrical site plans, one‑line diagram, demolition plans, lighting and power plans, calculations pertinent to the design, and panel and equipment schedules. Visit sites to collect existing electrical data and verify/confirm information provided on existing drawings. Collaborate with owner, client, and design partners for a coordinated design. Ensure compliance with relevant codes such as NEC, ICC codes (especially IBC and IECC) and all applicable client standards. Work with Revit and AutoCAD designers and produce clean markups to clearly communicate design changes needed. Use Coffman’s software to complete project invoices with the support of billing specialists, and manage and track project budget. Perform load calculations, voltage drop calculations, and short‑circuit calculations. Perform photometric calculations using lighting software. Manage and design multiple concurrent projects. Develop fee and qualification‑based proposals. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Self‑starter able to see the big picture and align with company vision. Qualifications BS in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (with electrical power emphasis). PE license in Electrical Engineering; required. Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design consisting of lighting and power systems. Low‑voltage design experience preferred. Experience with AutoCAD and Revit. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Project Management experience and/or certifications. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel. Experience designing electrical systems for healthcare, higher education, manufacturing, federal/DoD, science and technology, and/or data center projects preferred. Local AHJ experience and relationships preferred. Experience with electrical studies (SKM, E‑Tap, EasyPower) preferred. Compensation & Benefits Estimated annual salary of $95,000 - $115,000. Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate. Competitive end‑of‑year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance. 401(k) with maximum 5% contribution matching for 9% employee contribution.
