Senior Upstream Processing Technician

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Senior Upstream Processing Technician to support manufacturing operations for commercial and clinical biologics in St. Louis. The role involves executing batch records, conducting mammalian cell culture operations, managing large-scale bioreactors, and maintaining cGMP documentation in a cleanroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute manufacturing batch records, work instructions, and SOPs with focus on accuracy and proactive execution
• Conduct upstream processing activities including mammalian cell culture propagation and aseptic operations on bioreactors ranging 50L-2000L
• Perform large-scale filtration, centrifugation, and document all activities to meet cGMP requirements
• Maintain departmental supplies, equipment, logbooks, and data in accordance with site SOPs and policies
• Support quality investigations, identify developing process problems, and promote safe work practices

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent plus 2+ years experience, or Bachelor's degree
• Experience in manufacturing, operations, production, or laboratory settings
• Experience in cGMP regulated environments
• Knowledge of cGMP practices, aseptic techniques, and chemical concepts
• Critical thinking, problem-solving, and strong mathematical skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to lift minimum 25 lbs independently and stand 80% of shift
