Amarante Orthopedic Clinic is actively seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Physical Therapist to join our dedicated team at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation center in Norfolk, Virginia. Our clinic boasts a modern, expansive 5,000 square-foot sports medicine center designed to provide a comprehensive range of therapeutic services. We pride ourselves on our commitment to excellence, offering a collaborative environment where our team of healthcare professionals—including two physical therapists and a physical therapy assistant—provides high-quality care tailored to each patient's unique needs. Our clinic primarily serves individuals covered by private medical insurance, ensuring access to top-notch physical therapy services.

Work Environment

As part of our rehabilitation center team, you will work in a vibrant, hands-on environment equipped with the latest medical technology and therapy tools. Our facility is designed to support a wide variety of physical therapy needs, encouraging active patient participation and engagement. You will work a Monday to Friday schedule, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic while addressing the comprehensive rehabilitation needs of our patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical conditions to identify individual therapy goals and develop personalized treatment plans.
• Manage a patient load of one individual per hour to ensure high-quality attention and effective delivery of therapeutic exercises.
• Implement a variety of evidence-based treatment techniques to aid recovery, focusing on enhancing mobility and functionality.
• Educate patients on self-management strategies and preventative care to promote long-term health outcomes.
• Collaborate with fellow healthcare providers to share insights, monitor progress, and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Document patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes comprehensively to inform ongoing care and compliance with medical standards.
• Encourage and motivate patients through their treatment plans, emphasizing the importance of achieving physical goals.
• Evaluate and adjust fitness and wellness programs for patients based on ongoing assessments and needs.
• Promote healthier lifestyles through guidance on strength training, flexibility, balance, and coordination exercises.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clinic serves a broad range of orthopedic patients, including those recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions. You will work closely with individuals of all ages who are motivated to improve their physical capabilities through customized therapy approaches. Your role will be essential in guiding patients not only through recovery but also towards achieving proactive, healthier lifestyles.

Qualifications

• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in Virginia, with no disciplinary actions against your license.
• Strong manual therapy skills and a solid foundation in developing effective exercise plans tailored to patient needs.
• Proficiency in utilizing Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, particularly WebPT, to document patient interactions and treatments efficiently.

Preferred Experience

• Prior work experience within an orthopedic outpatient setting is strongly preferred, providing familiarity with common conditions and rehabilitation procedures.
• A proven track record of implementing effective treatment strategies and achieving positive patient outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 90,000 to 100,000 annually, reflecting your experience and contributions to the clinic.
