Materials Requirement Plan Sr Analyst

Job Summary The Sr. Analyst, Material Requirement Planning will develop, align, and document strategies to optimize component ordering and associated inventory management. These strategies will drive improvements in service, cash, cost, and time through Network Loss Analysis. The position will partner with the MRP project lead to ensure all component requirements and planning parameters across multiple sites are accurate and planned via SAP MRP, and will support supplier inventories and production schedules to meet cash, cost, and service metrics. Responsibilities Develop and implement a system‑driven SAP Material Requirements Planning solution, including order optimization, transition planning, statistical safety stock modeling, and integration of supplier inventory and production schedules. Act as the category expert on Supplier‑Managed & Owned Inventory (SMOI), ensuring effective utilization of supplier capacity, component master plans, and inventory strategy (including pre‑build). Assess supplier capacity versus demand and serve as the single point of contact for prioritizing requirements. Develop and communicate component‑level inventory management improvement initiatives, strategies, and budget. Identify and manage timely disposition of excess and obsolete inventory, blocked stock, and slow‑moving items; ensure material status is categorized for appropriate life‑cycle management in SAP. Communicate directly with vendors on timing and issue resolution. Complete all applicable workflows and support the development of ideal processes for material flow to and from SMG’s manufacturing sites. Escalate issues proactively to prevent business interruption. Allocate inventory effectively across stocking locations to reduce wasted moves and optimize inbound freight (Right Material, Right Place, Right Time). Establish appropriate minimum order quantities and pre‑build plans to set proper inventory levels. Identify and manage Excess & Obsolete (E&O) inventory. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field. 5+ years of inventory management, material requirement planning, or procurement experience. Experience using SAP, JDA, or similar systems. Experience utilizing Material Requirements Planning tools (SAP preferred). APICS certification is a plus. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Experience leading projects with cross‑functional work groups. Some traveling required to support projects and initiatives. Compensation The starting budgeted pay range for this role is $87,600.00 – $103,100.00 per year. Salary will be determined by experience, qualifications, and geographical location. For remote roles in Alaska, California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Oregon, or Washington, state‑required pay thresholds will be factored into base salary.
