Senior Counsel - eDiscovery and Corporate Litigation

Job Overview Senior Counsel – Corporate Litigation, eDiscovery Group. Responsible for cost‑effective legal services, litigation management, and advising on electronic discovery and information governance. Salary range: $146,400.00 – $241,600.00. Performance‑based incentive awards available. Responsibilities Manage litigation on behalf of Travelers and subsidiaries, oversee outside counsel, and drive strategy. Provide legal advice and counsel to internal stakeholders and senior management regarding eDiscovery and litigation matters. Research legal principles and precedents; proactively identify risks and recommend mitigation. Draft, negotiate and execute legal documents; monitor judicial climate and developments. Build and maintain strong internal and external client relationships. Mentor and coach less senior attorneys and paralegal/staff. Prepare/review annual legal fees budget, review invoices, recommend adjustments, and approve invoices within authority. Leverage technology and automation to improve efficiency. Collaborate with Legal Services professionals and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications 10+ years of prior legal experience as a practicing attorney. Experience in insurance coverage litigation and litigation management. Strong analytical and oral communication skills with a keen interest in eDiscovery technology. Understanding of claim and underwriting principles adaptable to litigation. Knowledge of insurance policies and coverages. Experience in project management and delivery from concept to execution. Active license in good standing in the state(s) where representation is required. Juris Doctorate or equivalent (international legal degree acceptable). Essential Minimum Requirements 7 years of prior legal experience as a practicing attorney. Graduate of an accredited law school. Active legal license in required jurisdictions.
