Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit RN (Cardiac/Heart Failure) – Ohio

Start Date: November 30, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, Night Shift, weekdays and rotating weekends, rotating holidays. No call required. Estimated patient ratio 1:3.

Highlights:

• 30-bed advanced heart failure and post-transplant progressive care unit serving a diverse cardiac patient population
• Work primarily with heart failure patients in a lower acuity cardiac PCU environment
• Epic charting system utilized throughout the facility
• Floating required to units of equivalent or lower acuity levels as needed
• Strong interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams, and more
• 36 hours of orientation provided to ensure successful transition

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required
• Minimum 2 years of total nursing experience preferred
• Cardiac experience strongly preferred; cardiac ICU experience a plus
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS and PCCN certifications preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Required skills: IV start/maintenance, telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip titration, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, arterial line management, accessing/managing ports
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references required: at least one from a manager/director or formal supervisor
