Director of Strategic Giving

 

Pace Academy is an independent college preparatory school in Atlanta, Ga., with an enrollment of 1,150 students in Pre-First through 12th grade. The Director of Strategic Giving is responsible for working with the Chief Advancement Office to develop and lead Pace Academy's major gifts, leadership annual giving, planned giving, stewardship strategy, and campaign fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, this position oversees the Pace Fund Director, Alumni Giving Director, and Stewardship Manager and serves as the primary architect of donor cultivation and solicitation strategies.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Major and Leadership Giving

● Work with the Chief Advancement Officer to develop and execute strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects.

● Manage a portfolio of leadership and major gift donors and prospects.

● Partner with the Head of School, Chief Advancement Officer, trustees, and volunteers on donor engagement strategies.

● Build and maintain a robust major-gift pipeline and donor portfolio.

 

Capital Campaign Management

● Manage the day-to-day implementation of capital campaigns.

● Develop campaign work plans, gift-tracking systems, and prospect-management strategies.

● Coordinate campaign volunteer committees and leadership structures.

● Monitor campaign fundraising performance and prepare progress reports.

● Collaborate with advancement operations to ensure accurate campaign reporting and gift tracking.

● Coordinate campaign donor recognition and stewardship activities.

● Support leadership gift solicitations and campaign proposal development.

 

Strategic Fundraising Oversight

● Provide strategic direction for the Pace Fund, alumni giving, and stewardship programs.

● Ensure fundraising programs work cohesively to maximize donor participation and giving levels.

● Develop donor segmentation and engagement strategies.

● Utilize fundraising data and analytics to drive decision-making.

 

Team Leadership

● Support the Pace Fund Director, Alumni Giving Director, and Stewardship Manager.

● Work with the Chief Advancement Office to establish fundraising goals and accountability measures.

● Mentor staff and support professional growth.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

● Bachelor's degree required.

● Minimum 7–10 years of advancement experience.

● Demonstrated success in securing major gifts.

● Experience managing campaign fundraising initiatives.

● Strong strategic planning and relationship management skills.

● Must be able to work on campus, in-person

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

● Some travel may be required.

● May have to traverse campus during a variety of weather conditions

● Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period

● While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands
