The Beverage Manager role at Montage Healdsburg is a leadership position focused on creating memorable guest experiences through outstanding beverage service and inventory management. Responsibilities Establish and oversee alcoholic beverage training for front‑of‑house Food & Beverage staff, ensuring knowledge of list‑specific content and responsible service techniques. Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors to secure premier products and exclusive opportunities. Partner with GMs and Department Heads to design cocktail programs for each outlet. Interview, select, train, supervise, schedule, mentor, and counsel associates. Prepare and conduct daily pre‑shift meetings, communicating relevant information to associates before each shift and event. Coordinate monthly departmental meetings with associates and department heads. Collaborate with the Director of Food & Beverages to design pricing strategies. Review inventory, including invoice accuracy, pricing structures, POS programming, and cost controls. Maintain par levels and order appropriate quantities; oversee the physical inventory process. Provide direct service to guests as needed—serving tables, bussing, seating, bartending when required. Ensure compliance with all safety and sanitation policies. Deliver on guests’ expectations and create WOW moments. Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs. Qualifications Experience in beverage supervision or management. Previous beverage buyer experience with extensive wine and spirit knowledge. Exceptional leadership skills and ability to motivate a team. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to prepare and analyze data, figures, and reports generated by computer. Comfortable working a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. Experience in luxury hotel operations is a plus. Data‑savvy and ready to embrace new technology. Stand and maintain mobility for extended periods. Lift and carry up to 30 pounds regularly during the shift. Push and pull carts weighing up to 200 pounds on a semi‑regular basis. Compensation The base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 per year. Incentive pay such as commissions, piece rates, or gratuities are excluded from this range.
