Schedule/Hours:

• 36 or 48 hour weekly contracts available

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Active RN license, unencumbered
• 2 years recent experience in a medical stepdown unit
• Valid ACLS and BLS certifications
• Experience caring for patients with complex conditions including sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, substance abuse, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for 16-20 bed stepdown unit
• Maintain a safe patient ratio of 1:4
• Monitor, assess, and record patient progress; communicate changes promptly to the healthcare team
• Administer medications and manage interventions for acute and chronic conditions
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and collaborate to optimize patient outcomes
• Support patients and families with education and compassionate care
