The Software Test Engineer Co-op will join a highly effective product quality team, working alongside developers in an Agile environment to develop and execute test cases for a wide range of software components, including user interfaces, algorithms and back-end data handling. This role includes writing and updating test cases, manually executing tests and interacting with a variety of electronic equipment in the lab. The co-op will also contribute to test automation efforts requiring coding skills in Python, MATLAB or C++. Our tools include Squish, Python, C++, MATLAB and Linux.

The OPAL HDx Mapping System is a 3D mapping and navigation system and an effective diagnostic tool for cardiac electrophysiology (EP) procedures. It provides real-time visualization of intracardiac catheters and displays 3D cardiac maps in selected formats during minimally invasive procedures, helping physicians identify the origin of an arrhythmia within the heart chamber. As a physician probes the heart with a catheter, the system generates an accurate anatomical model of the chamber. High-performance rendering and algorithmic techniques are vital to creating a detailed view and providing physicians with immediate feedback.

Your responsibilities will include…

• Use problem-solving skills to perform meaningful engineering work.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to support product quality.
• Design, develop and execute test cases to ensure product quality by validating system functionality and verifying that business and user requirements are met within the electrophysiology domain.
• Manually execute tests and run automated test scripts.
• Ensure testing is conducted according to written procedures.
• Document test results and prepare test reports.
• Record and track defects using a bug-tracking system.

Required qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree in computer science, biomedical engineering or physics, with an expected graduation date in fall/winter 2027 or spring 2030.
• Available to participate for the full duration of the co-op program from Jan. 11 through Aug. 6 or Aug. 13 2027. 
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization.
• Have reliable transportation to and from 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452. Boston Scientific does not provide transportation or transportation support to and from its locations.
• Proficient in Python or MATLAB.

Preferred qualifications:

• Prior software testing experience.
• Working knowledge of C++.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience with report writing and documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to learn complex software and quickly adapt to new tools and technologies.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Minimum Salary: $ 58,240.00

Maximum Salary: $ 68,640.00

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
