Industry: Non-profit organization specializing in SBA 504 loans

Location: Tallahassee, FL (in-office)

Summary of Qualifications:

• 2+ years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience 
• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Associate's degree or coursework in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field (preferred)
• Proficiency with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

About this position: We are seeking a motivated Bookkeeper to join our team in Tallahassee, FL. In this role, you'll independently handle a variety of accounting functions, from classifying transactions and making deposits to keeping our financial records audit-ready. You'll also respond to public inquiries about our corporately administered loan programs.

Essential Functions of the Bookkeeper:

• Reviews and classifies daily transactions in QuickBooks 
• Ensures compliance with company credit card and expense reimbursement policies
• Prepares and makes timely bank deposits
• Organizes and maintains financial documents for audits 
• Assists in reviewing EFT entries for accuracy
• Assists with other accounting and administrative duties, such as entering transactions and answering phones
• Responds to public inquiries regarding corporately administered loan programs

Requirements

The ideal candidate is someone who:

• Has 2+ years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Has a high level of proficiency with accounting software (preferably QuickBooks) 
• Has earned a high school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Has an associate’s degree or coursework in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field (preferred)
• Is proficient with Microsoft Excel
• Has professional communication skills and can maintain effective working relationships
• Is available to work full-time, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, in our Tallahassee, FL office
• Can pass a rigorous criminal background check
