Cherry Picker (Order Picker)
- What it is: An electric lift truck where the operator stands on a platform that elevates alongside the forks to pick individual items or cases from high warehouse racks.
- Key features: Operators must wear a safety harness and tether to the overhead guard. It includes a dead-man safety pedal and operates best in very narrow aisles (under 6 feet wide).
- Best use: Piece-picking and inventory selection at high elevations rather than moving full pallets.
- Sit-Down Forklift
- What it is: A traditional forklift equipped with an ergonomic seat where the operator sits during operation.
- Key features: Offers high lifting capacity, faster travel speeds (up to 10 mph), and superior stability for heavy or bulky loads. Available in electric, propane, or diesel models (ideal for both indoor and outdoor use).
- Best use: Long-shift operations, heavy hauling, outdoor terrain, and general loading or unloading.
- Stand-Up Forklift
- What it is: A compact, electric-powered lift truck (such as a reach truck or counterbalanced rider) where the operator stands upright.
- Key features: Designed for fast and frequent on-and-off access. Offers exceptional visibility and tighter turning radiuses compared to sit-down models.
