Location: Woodland Hills, CA Department: Accounting Reports to: CFO Employment Type: Full-Time We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Controller / Senior Accounting Manager to join our corporate accounting team. This position will own the day-to-day accounting operations and play a key role in driving accurate, timely financial closes for our multi-unit restaurant and hospitality business. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills combined with practical experience in the fast-paced industry. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage end-to-end accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, payroll oversight, cash management, and fixed assets. Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses. Collaborate with operations, FP&A, and leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for restaurant performance. Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory requirements. Lead audits (external and internal) and tax preparation processes. Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and implement best practices in a growing multi-location environment. Mentor and develop accounting members. Support future M&A and/or IPO initiatives through preparation of financial due diligence materials and other transaction-related accounting support. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA is required. 5-15+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5+ years in a supervisory or managerial role. Corporate accounting experience in hospitality, food & beverage (F&B), restaurants, or consumer retail environments is a plus (multi-unit experience a big plus). Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, or similar ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, etc.). Solid understanding of restaurant industry metrics, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition in hospitality. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
