Respiratory Care Practitioner II

The Respiratory Care Practitioner II provides advanced respiratory care services, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, for diverse patient populations. They collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal respiratory health outcomes and maintain professional standards of care.

Responsibilities:

• Perform respiratory care procedures such as ventilator management, nebulized medication therapy, oxygen therapy, and specialty gas administration.
• Conduct diagnostic tests including ECGs, pulmonary function tests, pulse oximetry, and assist physicians with cardiac stress testing.
• Administer arterial and capillary punctures, evaluate oxygenation, acid-base balance, and ventilation efficiency.
• Record patient treatment responses, monitor patient status, and reassess treatment plans accordingly.
• Collaborate closely with healthcare team members and participate in continuing education and rapid response activities.
• Ensure equipment proficiency and maintain compliance with quality assurance protocols.

Qualifications:

• Hold a college diploma in respiratory therapy or related field.
• Possess at least three years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Maintain a valid State of CA Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• Be certified in BLS, ACLS, and PALS by the American Heart Association.
• Hold NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Provider) certification.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail, compassion, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
