Residential Clinical Safety Supervisor Residential & Reintegration Services – Wheat Ridge Regional Center provides comprehensive services and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The work unit focuses on a safe and healthy environment and offers 24‑hour treatment compliant with State and Federal regulations. The center is seeking motivated individuals to provide direct support services and supervision. Residential Clinical Safety Supervisor The Residential Clinical Safety Supervisor will provide direct supervision and support, crisis intervention, and active treatment to ensure the physical safety and security of persons served, staff, property, and others. The position includes supervisory responsibilities over approximately 14 residential employees. Responsibilities Exercise supervision over residential employees; manage hiring, performance planning, evaluation, leave approval, and progressive discipline. Implement overall operations of residential services and ensure regulatory compliance (DPA, Personnel Rules, State Board of Nursing, ICF‑IID, HFEMSD, CMS, CDHS, and other state and federal mandates). Monitor, train, and observe direct reports to maintain compliance and document accordingly. Maintain safety and security for ICF/IID facilities; complete daily documentation (databases, Therap, and email). Respond promptly to individuals in crisis, use de‑escalation techniques and physical interventions when needed. Coordinate searches, handle elopements, remove dangerous objects, and maintain documentation. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement Individual Program Plans (IPP) and behavioral programs. Provide supervision and support for activities of daily living (ADL) and transportation of residents. Ensure residents have supplies, food, and personal items and promote independence. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Three (3) years of professional experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position. Preferred Qualifications Previous supervisory experience. Medication administration training by a certified or licensed program in CO. If the candidate does not have medication assistant training, they will be offered and required to complete within 2 months of hire. College education in a behavioral health, psychology, or criminal justice‑related field. Experience working with adjudicated and/or detained adults in a secure residential facility, residential health setting, or behavioral health setting. Experience working with adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities. Experience working with adults with mental illness. Experience facilitating psychoeducational groups. Experience working with adults who have trauma. Experience utilizing verbal de‑escalation and motivational techniques. Relevant years of state service experience. Self‑control, composure, and ability to manage stressful situations. Ability to verbally communicate clearly and respectfully. Ability to identify and act on changes, inappropriate activity, hazards or potential security breaches and communicate pertinent information. Motor vehicle record check; position may require driving a state fleet or personal vehicle. Travel required to remote work sites. Shift work available to meet 24/7 facility needs. Pre‑employment physical requirements: demonstrate ability to lift 50 lbs, bend, squat, TB test. Must demonstrate proficiency in approved physical interventions during orientation and throughout employment. Continued employment contingent upon completion of specialized training within 30 days after completion of DRC NEO.
