Assistant Principal for Academics: Elyria Catholic High School Elyria Catholic High School, Catholic Education - Elyria, Ohio The Assistant Principal for Academics collaborates with the Principal to support the implementation, management, and continuous improvement of the school's academic program. This position provides leadership in curriculum, instruction, assessment, educational technology, artificial intelligence integration, scheduling, faculty supervision, and academic operations to ensure alignment with the school's Catholic mission and educational standards. Collaborate with the Principal in the implementation, oversight, and continuous improvement of all academic programs and initiatives. Coordinate and supervise curriculum development, instructional programming, assessment practices, and the responsible integration of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, across all academic departments. Assist with the implementation of the school's academic improvement goals, including design thinking integration and the advancement of STEAM initiatives. Research, evaluate, and promote innovative instructional practices, focusing on ethical and mission-centered use of artificial intelligence. Support faculty in developing authentic learning experiences that foster empathy, critical reflection, creative problem-solving, and design-thinking competencies. Observe, supervise, and evaluate educational personnel per school and diocesan policies. Monitor academic programs, instructional practices, and educational systems to ensure effectiveness and alignment with school goals. Develop and manage the master schedule for faculty and students, optimizing use of personnel, facilities, and resources. Oversee the school's student information system and provide training and support to faculty and staff for its effective use. Assist in planning and implementing professional development opportunities that support faculty growth and educational technology adoption. Collaborate with the Principal, Assistant Principal for Student Life, Department Chairpersons, and faculty to ensure curriculum and instruction reflect the mission and vision of Elyria Catholic High School. Analyze student achievement data and other indicators to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement. Assist with accreditation activities, school improvement planning, and strategic initiatives that advance academic excellence and Catholic identity. Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to support day-to-day operations and overall effectiveness of the school. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal. Qualifications Master’s degree or higher in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field. Minimum of five years of experience in education, with demonstrated leadership in student activities, campus life, or school culture. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage students, parents, faculty, and staff. Experience coordinating student life programs, including clubs, events, retreats, service initiatives, and leadership development. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Commitment to the values and mission of Catholic education.
