Physician Assistant Thoracic Surgery

Seeking an experienced Physician Assistant for a 56 month locum assignment providing thoracic surgery coverage.

Schedule: 23 shifts per week.

Shift: 12 hours, 6:30 PM7:00 AM.

Setting: Hospital.

EMR: EPIC.

Patient population: Adult/Geriatric.

Average census: 1525 patients per shift.

Primarily floor patients from Step Down, OR/Post-Op, and ICU.

PA works primarily independently, with a fellow available as a clinical resource.

Potential first responder to codes until the fellow arrives.

May perform H&P for patients transferred from other hospitals.

Coverage is for maternity leave.

Required Experience & Skills:

• Minimum 1 year of experience
• Thoracic surgery experience
• Chest tube, Blake drain, and pigtail management
• ABG experience
• NGT and G/J feeding tube experience preferred
• ACLS and BLS
• NCCPA certification
• DEA required

Credentialing: Approximately 90 days; temporary privileges may be considered.
