Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services provides services that promote and improve agriculture, agribusiness, and forests; protect consumers and businesses; and conserve farmland and natural resources for the prosperity of all North Carolinians. Description of Work The primary purpose of this position is to conduct ELISA and Agar Gel-Immunodiffusion diagnostic tests for the detection of Mycoplasma synoviae, Mycoplasma gallisepticum, and Avian Influenza. This position is responsible for providing test results to producers and veterinarians submitting specimens for evaluation; compile and manage scientific data generated by serological testing; data entry into a computerized laboratory information system for reporting test results. This position performs quality control/assurance monitoring serological techniques; maintains inventory of reagents and consumables needed for diagnostic testing. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Recruitment Range: $39,435 - $59,154 General knowledge of the variety of laboratory procedures applicable to serology or other related disciplines.
