Locums OB/GYN Hospitalist | Petersburg, Virginia
Assignment: Locum Tenens with ongoing coverage potential. Coverage needed: Ongoing locum opportunity with the potential for extended coverage. Providers with availability for multiple dates are highly preferred.
Current open dates:
- September: 4, 16, 23, 24, 28
- October: 5, 12, 1618, 22, 26
- November: 2, 10, 1315, 23, 26, 27
- December: 7, 11, 17, 21, 2527, 29, 31
Must be able to cover the requested call dates.
Licensure & Certifications
- Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology Required
- ABOG Certified Required
- Active Virginia Medical License Required
- Active Virginia DEA Required
- Active Virginia CSR Required
- BLS Required
Required Experience
- Full-scope OB/GYN Hospitalist experience
- Comfortable performing:
- Cesarean sections
- Vaginal deliveries
- Suction D&C
- Management of ectopic pregnancies
- Ovarian torsion
- Abnormal uterine bleeding
- Experience with Labor & Delivery call coverage
- Comfortable managing unreferred OB patients, including deliveries and inpatient rounding
- High-risk OB patients are managed by Maternal-Fetal Medicine
Schedule
- 24-hour call shifts: 7:00 AM 7:00 AM
- Clinic responsibilities during call with approximately 20 scheduled patients
- 1:4 call rotation
- Average callback:
- Less than one callback per 24-hour shift
- Calls received through answering service
Practice Details
- OB/GYN Hospitalist practice
- 9 Labor & Delivery beds
- 20 postpartum beds
- Team includes:
- 4 OB/GYN physicians
- OB Hospitalists
- Surgical assistants
- 34 nurses per shift
- Average 23 nursery admissions per day
- Laborists manage unreferred patients, including deliveries and inpatient rounding
- EMR: Epic
