Dental Hygienist

Position Summary Joining our Dental Department, the Dental Hygienist will support quality dental services at our El Nuevo San Juan Health Center in the Bronx, NY. The Dental Hygienist will clean teeth and examine oral areas, head, and neck for signs of oral disease. The Dental Hygienist will also educate patients and families on oral hygiene, take and develop x‑rays, and apply fluoride and sealants. This full‑time role runs Tuesday‑to‑Saturday 8:00 am‑5:00 pm (or Monday‑to‑Friday with rotating Saturdays). Compensation ranges from $84,000 to $94,000 per year, depending on experience. Minimum Qualifications NYS Registered Dental Hygienist. Familiarity with dental terminology and general principles of dentistry. Computer proficiency. BLS and local anesthesia certification. Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred. Key Duties Examine gums using probes to locate periodontal recessed gums and signs of gum disease. Clean calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums. Apply fluorides, sealants or other cavity‑preventing agents to arrest dental decay. Provide clinical services or health education to improve and maintain the oral health of patients. Note and review patient medical history, and look for indications of oral cancer.
