Senior Accountant – Long Island, NY $100,000 - $115,000 Key Responsibilities General Accounting Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments. Perform monthly balance sheet and income statement reconciliations. Analyze financial performance and investigate variances. Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial records. Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities. Audit & Compliance Support external and internal audit processes. Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation. Assist with tax filings and compliance reporting. Maintain documentation supporting internal controls and accounting procedures. Accounts Receivable & Payable Oversight Review and reconcile AR and AP activity. Monitor aging reports and support collections activities. Ensure accurate coding and approval of expenditures. Process customer deductions and related transactions. Candidate Profile Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. CPA qualification preferred but not required. Experience 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience. Experience within manufacturing, consumer products, food & beverage, or a related industry preferred. Experience working with ERP systems. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Skills Strong understanding of GAAP. Experience preparing financial statements and account reconciliations. Advanced Excel capabilities including PivotTables and lookup functions. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability.
