Job Title

Registered Nurse – CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 Hours Per Week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic ICU setting at a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Care for patients with diagnoses including CABG, aortic aneurysm repair, pulmonary embolism, cardiac arrest, heart failure, MODS, and sepsis
• Manage and monitor advanced hemodynamic support devices including ECMO, IABP, Impella, and Swan-Ganz catheters
• Perform and assist with bedside procedures including CRRT, arterial lines, CVCs, chest tubes, NG tube insertion, and bedside surgical procedures
• Operate specialized equipment including Hemosphere, Arctic Sun, Blanketrol, Cortrak, Glidescope, and Philips monitors
• Float within scope to other ICUs, PCU floors, ED, and PACU to care for admitted patients as facility needs require

Required Qualifications

• Active or pending RN licensure (pending license accepted at time of submission)
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required (RQI certifications not accepted)
• Experience with post-operative open heart patients and advanced cardiac monitoring
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (non-local driver's license required on file)
• Must pass EKG competency testing (pass/fail; maximum 2 attempts)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior CVICU or CTVICU experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records
• Experience with CRRT, ECMO, IABP, and Impella devices
• Prior travel nursing experience is a plus
