Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 3x12-hour shifts | 36 or 48 hours per week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department, with a significant portion of the patient population consisting of admitted holds.
• Administer medications, including IV medications, in accordance with the seven medication rights.
• Document and communicate clinical findings accurately and in a timely manner.
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:5 in a Level I Trauma, acute care environment.
• Float as needed to Adult PCUs based on staffing needs; optional floating to Pediatric ED; potential floating to ED Holding and Trauma based on experience.
• Adhere to weekend scheduling requirements, which may include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (state license may be pending at time of submission).
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience; candidates with 1.5 years may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required — TNCC must be obtained prior to submission; NIH may be pending until compliance due date.
• RQI certifications are not accepted in lieu of required certifications.
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (non-local requirement); non-local driver's license required on file.
• Charting proficiency; experience with Cerner is a plus.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience is strongly preferred; first-time travelers with 2+ years of Level I Trauma experience may be considered.
• Level I Trauma center experience is highly preferred given the acuity and volume of the department.
• Familiarity with ED holding environments and high admitted-patient census workflows.
