Sideways is a branding and creative agency at the intersection of hospitality, real estate, and culture. For 15+ years we have turned luxury real estate, hotels, and resorts into iconic brands, from first concept through launch, in the world's most competitive markets. We have worked with Related Companies, Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, Highgate, sbe, and Silverstein, and built brands for Moxy, Freehand, and flagship residences including Fifteen Hudson Yards and Lantern House. Our disciplines are brand strategy, identity, naming, creative direction, content, websites and brand technology, and go-to-market. We work across New York, Los Angeles, and Guadalajara.

We are a small senior team that scales each project with a trusted network of freelancers and partner studios. We also run on Agency OS, our own AI operating system. It drafts scopes, contracts, onboarding, and status so that our people spend their time on the work and the relationships.

The role

The Account Manager leads delivery of our brand, digital, and web work. You own the people and the relationships behind each project: clients, freelancers, partner studios, and colleagues. The system handles much of the process work; your job is judgment, communication, and follow-through.

You work alongside our Head of Delivery, share the portfolio of active projects, and are ready to carry the full delivery load when needed. You report to the Director of Project Management.

What you’ll do

Clients

• Serve as the day-to-day lead for clients through delivery: kickoffs, presentations, feedback rounds, and launches.
• Set clear expectations early and hold them. Handle the hard conversations (scope, schedule, budget) before they become problems.
• Keep a clear view of each client's goals and spot where the relationship can grow. Bring those openings to leadership.

Teams and partners

• Staff each project with the right mix of in-house talent, freelancers, and partner studios (design, development, rendering, photography, copy).
• Give clear direction, negotiate fair terms, and review work against the brief.
• Build lasting relationships with the best freelancers and partners so they come back, and wind engagements down cleanly when a project ends.
• Work closely with creative, strategy, and technology leads so each discipline has what it needs.

Projects

• Own scope, timeline, and budget across several concurrent projects.
• Catch risks, dependencies, and scope creep early; raise change orders when the work changes.
• Keep project records current in ClickUp and Agency OS.

Agency OS

• Direct and review the AI agents that draft scopes, contractor agreements, onboarding, and status reports. You approve what goes out.
• Run those steps by hand where the system does not yet reach, and tell us where it should improve.

What you bring

• 5+ years producing or project-managing in a creative or digital agency, including website and brand identity work.
• A track record of running blended teams of staff, freelancers, and partner studios.
• Strong presence with senior clients: you present well, listen well, and can say no with a better option attached.
• Sound judgment in negotiation with freelancers, vendors, and clients.
• Command of budgets, schedules, and scope on fixed-fee work.
• Clear, concise writing.
• Real use of AI tools in your daily work. Experience with Claude is a plus.
• Experience in hospitality, real estate, or luxury brands is a strong plus.

How we work

• Remote, but you must live within commuting distance of New York City and be available to work in person in NYC any week. In practice that is a few times a month: client presentations, workshops, site visits, and team days.
• Unlimited PTO with a 15-day minimum, plus a winter closure between the holidays.

Compensation

$90,000–$110,000 base, depending on experience.
