Growing together.Senior Community Care ('SCC') is designed to support senior living communities to provide care for their residents. Our approach is designed to reduce friction for members by addressing their physical, mental and social needs according to their personal care preferences and the location they desire for care.SCC currently serves over 900 senior living communities and 5,000+ IE-SNP members. One of the unique features of our model is the introduction of a care navigator to each member. The care navigator acts as the 'quarterback' of the care team, with a primary focus on connecting members to doctors, coordinating care needs - including member benefits - and ensuring members receive their annual comprehensive visit. They also link members with local resources such as transportation, home health and food assistance, identify Stars gaps and help facilitate closure, and support UHC sales agents.The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading critical revenue and membership accounting functions across complex healthcare arrangements, including Medicaid and Medicare Advantage (IE-SNP/ISNP). This role oversees key components of the monthly close, ensures compliance with revenue recognition standards, manages high-risk balance sheet accounts, and partners cross-functionally to support accurate financial reporting and forecasting. In addition to technical accounting ownership, this role provides leadership, guidance and oversight to a Senior Accountant supporting revenue and close activities, while driving process improvement and consistency across reporting cycles.You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.Primary Responsibilities:Oversee assigned portions of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timely executionReview and approve complex journal entries, including: Medicaid and Medicare revenue and membershipECAP revenue, withholds, eligibility and payment adjustmentsRAF accruals (current, EOL and Final)Management fee, admin fee and specialty revenue entriesEnsure alignment of revenue and membership across RAM, ECAP, and UHC reportingOwn oversight of high-risk reconciliations, including revenue, AR, eliminations and intercompany accountsReview variance analyses, challenge assumptions, and ensure timely issue resolutionEnsure compliance with SOX and internal control standards; maintain high-quality, audit-ready documentationServe as a primary point of contact for internal and external audit inquiries related to revenue and close activityReview and approve key reporting deliverables, including: Statement of Net AssetsCash flow commentary, forecasts and best estimatesQuarterly asset reviewsProvide day-to-day leadership, coaching and oversight to accountants supporting revenue and close operationsPartner closely with Finance, FP&A, Actuarial, Operations and Consolidations teams to resolve issues, validate estimates and support reporting requirementsProvide insights to leadership on revenue drivers, risks and emerging issuesAct as a subject-matter expert for healthcare revenue and membership accounting within SCCPartner with FP&A on forecasting, trend analysis, and variance explanationsYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting5+ years of accounting experienceProven excellent written and verbal communication skillsProven advanced Excel and data analysis skillsExperience leading or reviewing complex close areaProven ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environmentPreferred Qualifications:CPAAccounting and finance systems experience - PeopleSoft, SmartView / EssbaseSOX and audit leadership experience*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $91,700 - $163,700 annually based on full-time employment.
