Job Details The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery offers a one-year, non-categorical internship position for dental school graduates who are interested in gaining additional education and experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Program Overview This internship provides extensive clinical experience with inpatient management and outpatient oral surgical procedures. Interns provide care for patients at Jefferson Abington and at times Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Interns are fully integrated into the residency program, and their responsibilities mirror those of first-year categorical residents. In addition, interns participate in all residency program didactic components. Responsibilities Provide inpatient management of oral and maxillofacial surgical cases. Perform outpatient oral surgical procedures. Participate in residency program didactics and case conferences. Collaborate with attending surgeons, residents, and multidisciplinary teams. Qualifications Dental school graduate. Strong clinical foundation in oral surgery, restorative dentistry, and critical care. Demonstrated interest in oral and maxillofacial surgery residency training. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
