Account Manager
Allied Instrumentation is seeking a highly motivated Account Manager to drive business growth throughout the Chicago metropolitan area. This is a true business development role focused on prospecting, developing new customer relationships, and expanding our presence within industrial and manufacturing facilities.
The ideal candidate thrives in front of customers, enjoys opening doors, uncovering opportunities, and converting prospects into long-term partnerships. What You'll Do
Prospecting & New Business Development
- Identify, target, and develop new business opportunities throughout the Chicago metropolitan market.
- Conduct cold calls, site visits, networking activities, referrals, and industry events to generate qualified opportunities.
- Develop relationships with plant managers, maintenance managers, engineers, EHS professionals, operations leaders, and procurement teams.
- Execute territory growth plans focused on increasing market share and expanding Allied Instrumentation's customer base.
- Utilize Sandler selling principles to Keep, Attain, Recapture, and Expand customer relationships.
Account Management & Technical Sales
- Serve as a trusted advisor by understanding customer challenges and recommending technical solutions.
- Promote a broad portfolio of instrumentation, gas detection, automation, analytical, flow measurement, and valve automation products.
- Influence project specifications and position Allied Instrumentation solutions early in the buying cycle.
- Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, and solution-based sales discussions.
- Collaborate with manufacturer representatives and technical specialists to support customer requirements.
Sales Execution
- Manage opportunities from prospecting through quotation, negotiation, and close.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and sales activity plans.
- Consistently meet or exceed territory sales and profitability goals.
- Work closely with inside sales, service, and operations teams to ensure exceptional customer support.

Qualifications
Required
- 2+ years of outside sales, business development, or industrial sales experience.
- Proven ability to prospect, develop, and close new business opportunities.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a territory.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the Chicago metropolitan area.
Preferred
- Experience selling industrial instrumentation, automation, controls, gas detection, valves, process equipment, or related technical products.
- Familiarity with manufacturing, chemical processing, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, power generation, refining, or utility markets.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Technical Sales, or a related field.
- Experience using CRM platforms and managing sales pipelines.
