Assistant Director for Vertical Integrated Projects (VIP) Program

Position Summary Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Assistant Director for Vertical Integrated Projects (VIP) Program in Boca Raton, FL. The Assistant Director provides administrative support and implements the grant‑funded program, collaborating with the project principal investigator(s) and VIP Advisory Board to achieve annual goals. Responsibilities Facilitate cross‑disciplinary VIP project opportunities and support establishment of VIP Teams. Facilitate selection and establishment of 4 VIP cohort teams each year, including faculty VIP leads and VIP students. Direct recruitment of students into VIP teams each semester. Develop and implement professional development and educational opportunities for VIP students and faculty. Participate in pursuing research questions and scholarly activity related to the FIPSE grant. Facilitate VIP program assessment, including annual reporting requirements. Collaborate with the project principal investigator(s) and VIP Advisory Board to meet annual goals. Establish and maintain internal and external partnerships and funding opportunities. Supervise VIP Graduate Assistant and VIP Peer mentors, offering onboarding and professional development. Guide and mentor VIP students regarding research resources. Responsible for course and program administration. Participate in the VIP Consortium and collaborate with other VIP teams nationwide. Potentially teach one section of the VIP interdisciplinary course each year and oversee other instructors. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications A master’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and at least two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree and four years of experience. Demonstrated ability to utilize existing analytical tools for evaluation and assessment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with diverse audiences. Experience mentoring students. Familiarity with research processes within an academic framework. Ability to lead multiple projects. Detail‑oriented with strong interpersonal communication skills. Preferred Skills / Qualifications Experience with research, administrative experience in project implementation and management. Knowledge of fundamentals of AI, AI tools, and Data‑Science methods. Salary $64,000 - $71,000 annually.
