About the Role
The Company is in search of an Executive Director or Vice President, Patents to spearhead the intellectual property strategy for its innovative oncology portfolio. The successful candidate will be a seasoned patent attorney with a strategic mindset, capable of leading the development and integration of global prosecution and challenge strategies. This pivotal role demands a professional with a strong background in both patent prosecution and disputes, particularly within the competitive oncology sector. The Executive Director or Vice President, Patents will be a key partner to the VP and a trusted advisor to senior leadership, focusing on the enhancement of the company's assets, anticipating competitive threats, and addressing vulnerabilities. Applicants for this role at the company should have a minimum of 15 years' patent experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with a significant portion of that time spent in an in-house capacity. A degree in a life science discipline is mandatory, with an advanced degree in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or a related field being strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will be adept at operating at the intersection of sophisticated patent prosecution and patent disputes, and will be instrumental in the company's commitment to developing novel targeted therapies for patients with RAS-addicted cancers. The role requires a professional who is not only a technical expert but also a strategic thinker, capable of strengthening the durability and value of the company's assets on a global scale.
