Part Time Bank Teller (25 - 30 hrs/week) - University Branch ($20/hour DOQ)

Position Summary We have an opening for a part‑time teller (25-30 hr/week) at our University branch in St. Paul. This position is responsible for providing superior teller services quickly and efficiently. The teller processes customer transactions in a timely and accurate manner, responds to inquiries, and provides a positive reflection on the bank’s image. Working hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. and alternating Saturdays 9 a.m.-12 noon. Bilingual fluency in English/Spanish/Hmong is beneficial. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Customer Service & Sales Provides quality customer service, consistently demonstrating a positive and cooperative attitude. Acknowledges and responds immediately to the customer – “Customer before paperwork.” Greets the customer by name, learns and uses the name in closing. Maintains eye contact and demonstrates user‑friendly non‑verbal behavior. Thanks the customer for their business. Assists with phone answering as needed. Courteously and pleasantly answers questions and directs callers to other departments when required. Identifies opportunities to cross‑sell bank products and services to new and existing customers. Teller Operations Processes deposits and withdrawals, verifying all cash or endorsements and issuing receipts per procedures. Verifies account information from the computer to validate all customer data before completing transactions. Maintains sufficient cash drawer funds, balances the drawer, and keeps cash differences within the established amount. Ensures all transactions are documented on the teller tape to minimize liability and maintain an audit trail. Cash checks for account holders and approved check‑cashing customers, within limits set by the cashing policy, upon signature verification. Processes additional transactions such as mail and night deposit items under dual control, telephone transfers, money orders, cashier’s checks, traveler’s checks, cash advances, sells and redeems savings bonds, currency and coin orders, coin counts, food coupons, and other assigned duties. Sells excess cash to vault teller to avoid exceeding drawer limit; ensures the drawer is stocked to meet demand. Follows all bank regulations affecting teller operations (BSA, Regulation CC, CIP, etc.). Adheres to all bank security policies for the location and position. Other Responsibilities Accepts rent payments for safe deposit boxes per agreement. Daily processing of TT&L payments and money orders. Performs various responsibilities and special projects as assigned by management. Compensation and Benefits Expected starting hourly rate is between $20-24 DOQ. 20-29 hrs/week: Life, AD&D, STD/LTD, 401(k), Holidays, PTO, PVTO, Pet Insurance and more. 30+ hrs/week: same benefits plus medical, dental, vision, FSA.
