Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 6 months of neuro experience required License: Valid compact license in hand at submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Client unit experience highly recommended. - Proficient at using the NIH scale and caring for a variety of neurology diagnoses. - Patient ratios: 1:5. Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse for a telemetry unit specializing in neuro care. Candidates must have at least 6 months of neurology experience. This position will involve floating between units as necessary. Weekend shifts required every other weekend. The ideal candidate will be experienced in interpreting dysrhythmias and managing telemetry patients. The role includes care for patients with CVA, spinal cord injuries, and post-operative neurosurgery. A successful candidate will also have experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, and procedural sedation administration. Being a designated stroke unit, the care team is equipped for thrombectomy procedures. This role requires familiarity with electronic charting systems, specifically Epic. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities as needed. Must commit to working three of the five major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day). References covering the last year of experience are required prior to start.
