Key Responsibilities\n

• Assess clients’ mental health status by evaluating the intensity, frequency, and duration of their mood disorder symptoms through various diagnostic tools.

• Collaborate with clients to formulate individualized treatment plans, incorporating their personal goals and preferred therapeutic interventions.
\n
• Administer evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to effectively address clients’ needs.

• Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families about mood disorders, available treatments, coping strategies, and the importance of self-care.
\n
• Continuously monitor client progress, adjusting treatment approaches as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.

• Engage with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and medical professionals, to coordinate integrated care for clients.
\n
• Stay informed of the latest research and advancements in the treatment of mood disorders to enhance therapeutic practices.

• Maintain thorough and confidential client documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development workshops to foster personal and professional growth.

• Advocate for clients' mental health needs and promote awareness to combat stigma associated with mental illness.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily be working with individuals struggling with mood disorders, including patients dealing with depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder, as well as vulnerable populations such as the homeless, refugees, and survivors of domestic violence. This requires sensitivity and a deep understanding of the complexities that these groups face in their mental health journeys.

Qualifications\n

• A current and valid state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or related field.
