Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg/Observation

Job Details:

• Work in the Emergency Department setting (not observation)
• 12-hour shifts with weekend rotation every other weekend
• Every other holiday required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Care for a variety of patient types including post-surgical, CVA, sepsis, pneumonia, trauma, MI, pediatrics, and obstetric emergencies
• Minimum 18 months of experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC
• Required skills include airway management, RSI knowledge, cardiac drips, code management, CVA and STEMI management
• Charting system: Epic EMR
• IV Pumps: Alaris; Medication Dispensing: Pyxis
• Support staff includes ED techs, LPN, charge nurse, phlebotomy, VAT team, respiratory therapy, hospitalist (24/7), and OT/PT/ST services
• No floating required
• Orientation includes NEO and 2 twelve-hour shifts on the unit
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• Free parking available

This facility is a 60-bed hospital operating as a Level 4 trauma and stroke-ready facility. The emergency department includes 17 exam rooms and a 4-bed observation unit, offering comprehensive emergency care services. The facility provides robust support resources including 24/7 hospitalist coverage, respiratory therapy, and a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.
