Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Pending license accepted Certifications: ACLS, BLS required Must-Have: - Interpretation of dysrhythmias - IV insulin protocols - Feeding tube care and management - Pre/post hemodialysis management - Blood product administration - Central line care/management - Phlebotomy - Peripheral line care/management - Starting IVs - Managing cardiac drips without titration - PCA and thrombolytic agents - Substance withdrawal management - Patient care for ortho trauma - Isolation precautions Description: This position requires a registered nurse specializing in medical surgical/telemetry. The role involves caring for patients waiting to be admitted to the hospital. Care begins in the emergency department until beds become available. You will be responsible for interpreting dysrhythmias and managing IV insulin protocols. The nurse will handle feeding tube care and manage pre/post hemodialysis patients. Administration of blood products and providing central line care are essential tasks. Phlebotomy and managing peripheral lines are part of the job as well. Starting IVs and managing cardiac drips without titration are required skills. You will also assist with PCA, thrombolytic agents, and substance withdrawal. The nurse must be familiar with managing ortho trauma and adhering to isolation precautions. Weekend work is expected on an alternating schedule. Flexibility to float within the service line is necessary to meet facility needs.
