A global logistics and freight forwarding company is seeking an organized and professional Customer Service Representative to support its Air Import operations team near JFK Airport. This role is ideal for someone interested in international logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations, particularly candidates with experience supporting airline import shipments, air cargo handling, or breakbulk operations.

You will play an important role in coordinating incoming international shipments, communicating with customers and logistics partners, managing shipping documentation, and helping ensure freight moves efficiently from arrival through final delivery. Responsibilities

• Coordinate incoming air import shipments from arrival through customs clearance and final delivery, including airline cargo and breakbulk shipments.
• Communicate with customers, overseas agents, airlines, truckers, customs brokers, warehouses, and internal teams regarding shipment status, documentation, and delivery arrangements.
• Support breakbulk operations by coordinating shipment breakdown, freight handling, cargo availability, and delivery scheduling as needed.
• Monitor shipment milestones, deadlines, and cargo status to help ensure timely and accurate movement of freight.
• Manage multiple inboxes and prioritize urgent operational tasks in a fast-paced logistics environment.
• Coordinate customs clearance and delivery arrangements for incoming air import shipments.
• Process shipment documentation, invoices, and operational data using Outlook, Excel, Word, and AS/400.
• Prepare and review shipping labels, pickup orders, freight bills, invoices, and other import documentation.
• Verify shipment details and documentation for accuracy and follow up to resolve missing or incorrect information.
• Support key customer accounts and maintain strong professional relationships through timely communication and follow-through.
• Follow internal procedures and applicable operational requirements to support accurate and compliant shipment handling.
• Assist with general administrative and operational support functions within the Air Import department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities under pressure.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, process-driven office environment.
• Customer service, logistics, operations, or administrative experience preferred.
• Experience with air imports, airline cargo, freight forwarding, or breakbulk operations is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with import shipment coordination, cargo arrival and release, customs clearance, delivery scheduling, or freight documentation is a plus.
• Exposure to customs procedures, Incoterms, or import/export operations is beneficial.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word required.
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and internal teams and follow up to resolve operational issues.
• Reliable transportation and punctual attendance required.
